Our Story
A science-based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people about the California Delta.
Our Vision
In 2006, The Discover The Delta Foundation founder, Ken Scheidegger, PhD. had a growing concern that policy makers and Californians lacked basic knowledge about the California Delta. He believed that inadequate scientific education was contributing to the failed efforts to resolve the long-term Delta issues. He noticed the lack of Delta community involvement was increasing. So, Scheidegger gathered a group of Delta residents and business owners who shared his vision to educate all Californians and visitors about the important ecological, geographical, and economic role of the California Delta. Through their desire to educate the public, they started a science-based nonprofit foundation which serves as the Discover The Delta Foundation today.
